Amy has seven years of experience in ecological research. As a research
assistant for the Restoration Ecology Laboratory at Colorado State University,
she assisted as a field technician and botanist on various research
projects including mine reclamation, metal toxicity thresholds of
native plant species, and integrated control of weed species on military
lands. As a research associate for the Natural Resources Ecology Laboratory,
she worked on a landscape-scale assessment of the Grand Staircase-Escalante
National Monument and a monitoring study of fire impacts on the Hayman
burn southwest of Denver. In 2001, Amy completed an independent research
project at the Institute of Ecology and Botany, Hungarian Academy of
Sciences, on invasive weed management strategies and the utility of a flora database
structure. Amy has three years of experience as a field technician for
Blue Mountain Environmental Consulting, helping to conduct forest agricultural
plan assessments and ecosystem management plans.
Amy has a B.S. in Rangeland Ecology and Restoration from Colorado State
University and has partially completed an M.S. in Technical Communication.
Amy is a member of the Colorado Native Plant Society.
